Bio

Jonathan Fine is a director, editor, and VFX artist born, raised, and living in NYC. His background in music and dance deeply shapes his holistic, multidisciplinary approach to filmmaking.

During his time at LaGuardia High School, Fine won national piano competitions resulting in solo piano performances at Carnegie Hall and Lincoln Center. While studying film at Bard College, he was selected for the "Young Filmmaker Award" by the Los Angeles Film Awards for his short film "Off the Rails."

Since graduating, Fine’s directing/editing work has spanned various genres. His directed music video work has won the “Best Music Video” award at several major film festivals — including the New York Shorts International Film Festival (the largest short film festival in the east coast), the Big Apple Film Festival, and the New York International Film Awards — and has been featured in publications such as Nylon, Wonderland, and Earmilk. His VFX work has been called “truly major label level” by Cultr Magazine and “out of this world” by Earmilk. He has also made CGI concert visuals for music festivals such as Bushwig and FORMAT.

In addition to his work in the music world, Fine also writes, directs, and edits non-fiction video work — such as explainer, compliance, and promotional videos — for a variety of corporations and non-profits. Past clients include the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Vimar, and Tronox.

He is proficient in Premiere Pro, After Effects, Unreal Engine 5, and Photoshop. VFX specialties are compositing, motion design, and 2.5D animation.
